Paul previously worked at Humber Valley United Church, a congregation of The United Church of Canada.  At Humber Valley, he has directed their Chancel Choir, Handbell Ensemble, Junior Choir, and Concert Choir. He has previously served Grace United Methodist Church in Valley Stream, NY, and the Anglican congregation of Christ Church Hampstead Square in London, UK.

Paul is a dedicated Christian who has been confirmed in the United Church and the Anglican Church. His career in music is vast, encompassing work as a professor, composer, organist, conductor, pianist, and choir director. He is a graduate of Queen’s University in Canada, with advanced studies in organ, choral and orchestral conducting, music theory, music history, and composition.

He is inspired by traditional worship, the rich heritage of choral and instrumental music that the Christian faith has inspired, and United Methodism’s legacy of great hymns. Among the choral masterworks in his directorial repertoire are Handel’s Messiah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Mozart’s Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem, and Rutter’s Requiem and Magnificat, to name only a few.

Paul has accompanied his choirs on tour twice in this decade. March 2010 saw him and his choir in Paris at the Église de la Madeleine and at Notre Dame de Paris. In 2012 they sang at St. Peter’s Basilica and at Sant’Andrea della Valle in Rome as well as Santo Agapito in the town of Palestrina.
