Let’s read through the Bible in a Year in 2025!
We recently began a congregation-wide plan to read through the Bible next year! Our focus is on gaining a clearer understanding of God’s word and how it relates to our lives. We recognize this is a tremendous commitment but we have confidence that we can make this commitment together. Here are a few details you’ll need to know as we go on this journey together.
About the Bible:
We will use “The One Year Bible” published by Tyndale which we’ve already purchased as our gift to you! If you would like your own copy, please contact the front office and we'd be happy to get you a copy.
The One Year Bible includes a daily reading plan. Simply open the Bible to the current day and read the selections. For those who are using their own Bible, there is a Daily Reading Plan linked below in the Resource section. Each day will include a passage from the Old Testament, a passage from the New Testament, a Psalm and a Proverb. The daily time commitment is about 15 minutes of reading.
We recognize the goal is an ambitious one, but we also know that the results will be life-changing as we covenant together.
The Bible Project:
As you read scripture, there will be times you will benefit from additional information to reinforce what you are reading. Our small groups are utilizing The Bible Project videos which offer clear and concise videos for each book of the Bible. For our current reading, take a few minutes to watch these videos on Leviticus and Mark.
Online and Audio:
The Bible App includes the same reading plan to allow you to read on your phone or listen to the audio version. There's also an audio version available for purchase on Amazon. Who doesn’t have 15 minutes a day to commit to reading God’s Word?
Small Groups:
We have several small group opportunities to connect with others reading through the One Year Bible in 2025. Our groups will have a bit of teaching time to clarify reading and how scripture is connected, as well as small group interaction. Groups are an encouraging time to reinforce reading and how God’s word connects to our lives. Sign-up today at the button below for one of our small groups:
Mondays at 9:30 am – a women’s small group led by Milli Sample in the Parlor.
Tuesdays at 5:30 pm – a small group for men and women of all ages with shared leadership by Pastor Hale and Pastor Michelle.
First Sundays at 6:00 pm – a once-a-month small group for men and women of all ages on the first Sunday of each month led by Pastor Michelle.
